THE LOVE OF JESUS, THE LOVE FOR HIS PEOPLE

We have established in previous series that; The Love of Jesus is the Love of The Father (John 8:42). Today, we want to examine and established the focus of the love of Jesus. 

Right from the inception of creation, in Genesis, we saw God central focus had always been on Man, relation with people. 

"For the Lord's portion is his people; Jacob is the lot of his inheritance." (Deut. 32:9) 

However, you may wonder who are God's people? is every body not God's people?

(Isaiah 60:1-3)

WHO ARE HIS PEOPLE?

His People are His Sheep; 

* His people are: The Saints

The saints are people who are sanctified, righteous (right with God) and are saved by believing and confessed Jesus as Lord and Saviour. 

Paul commended efforts towards persons that demonstrated this Love on the saints; 

"Wherefore I also, after I heard of your faith in the Lord Jesus, and love unto all the saints," (Ephesians 1:15) 

* The Believers (His Lambs)

"So when they had dined, Jesus saith to Simon Peter, Simon, son of Jonas, lovest thou me more than these? He saith unto him, Yea, Lord; thou knowest that I love thee. He saith unto him, Feed my lambs." (John 21:15) 

* His people are: The Church and body of Christ in general

"So we, being many, are one body in Christ, and every one members one of another." (Romans 12:5)

"For as the body is one, and hath many members, and all the members of that one body, being many, are one body: so also is Christ." (1 Corinthians 12:12)

Furthermore, everyone that truly follows, believer and recognizes Jesus as The Christ, The Lord, and Saviour are God's People. They are the people His covenant is with. 

"Christ hath redeemed us from the curse of the law, being made a curse for us: for it is written, Cursed is every one that hangeth on a tree: That the blessing of Abraham might come on the Gentiles through Jesus Christ; that we might receive the promise of the Spirit through faith." (Gal. 3:13-14)

Paul testifies of this Love in Timothy 

"Since we heard of your faith in Christ Jesus, and of the love which ye have to all the saints," (Col. 1:4) 

The Love of God (which is in Christ Jesus- Romans 8:39), is the love that has His people at top priority. This is why one of the determinate counsel of God is to see His people becoming oneness with Christ, gaining full stature with His person.

" Till we all come in the unity of the faith, and of the knowledge of the Son of God, unto a perfect man, unto the measure of the stature of the fulness of Christ:" (Ephesians 4:13) 

DON'T BE DECIVE, GOD'S PEOPLE ARE THOSE WHO BELIEVE IN JESUS AND NOT JUST THOSE WHO KNOWS ABOUT JESUS!
