"SHARING YOUR FAITH IN JESUS"
Our character as Christians should not just portray religious activities and Love, but must also demonstrates Faith in Jesus. Paul writing to Philemon testifies of this fact, he said;
"I thank my God always when I remember you in my prayers, because I hear of your love and of the faith that you have toward the Lord Jesus and for all the saints.." (Philemon 1:4-5 ESV)
WHAT TO DO WITH OUR FAITH IN JESUS
- SHARE IT: Paul also went further in the same chapter to describe how Philemon had successfully demonstrated his faith in Jesus via sharing. Here is what he said:
"And I pray] that the participation in and sharing of your faith may produce and promote full recognition and appreciation and understanding and precise knowledge of every good [thing] that is ours in [our identification with] Christ Jesus [and unto His glory". (Philemon 1:6 AMP)
Paul's words expressed in this writing to Philemon shows to us that Faith can be shared with others, on situations that requires the application of faith.
As we do so, we 'Refresh the brethren': This is similar with the previous point, in the next verse, here what Paul said concerning the Love and Faith in Jesus of Philemon., he said;
"For I have derived great joy and comfort and encouragement from your love, because the hearts of the saints [who are your fellow Christians] have been cheered and refreshed through you, [my] brother." (Philemon 1:7 AMP)
The KJV versions says: "...because the hearts of the saints have been made strong again through you..."
From the Scriptures we have examined, we can see that one way of using our Faith in Jesus is to rekindle the faith of others, particularly the brethren (Christians). Exhorting and admonishing them to keep up their love and faith in Jesus, by so doing, you are strengthening their faith in Jesus.
