THE FAITH OF JESUS #5
"WHAT JESUS SAID ABOUT FAITH"
Today, lets examine what Jesus really said about Faith, and how our walk of Faith is really important. I believe understanding this two factors will facilitate a growing revelation of who Jesus truly is, and to help us understand the difference between "Faith in Jesus" and "Faith in something else".
Jesus spoke about a kind of Faith and of People who will believe in Him without physical evidences of His death and resurrection, He recognized that kind of Faith as the 'The Revelation Faith of God' which is given to us. (i.e it is a gift we receive not struggling to attain).
However, in the time of Jesus, no one could relate with Jesus by revelation (as they could see, hear and touch Him physically as a person), but by their senses until His resurrection and accession to heaven. Remember Paul says: "...Faith comes by hearing...The Word of God" (Romans 10:17) He was their Word of God
Jesus calls Faith a 'Revelational assurance of 'things' hope for from Him. He calls Faith "touching or taking from Him", He calls such experience a great Faith as when depending on the Grace of God rather than the works/righteousness of an individual. This was demonstrated in an encountered with the Centurion whose servants was ill.
This was His response;
"And Jesus saith unto him, I will come and heal him. The centurion answered and said, Lord, I am not worthy that thou shouldest come under my roof: but speak the word only, and my servant shall be healed. For I am a man under authority, having soldiers under me: and I say to this man, Go, and he goeth; and to another, Come, and he cometh; and to my servant, Do this, and he doeth it. When Jesus heard it, he marvelled, and said to them that followed, Verily I say unto you, I have not found so great faith, no, not in Israel." (Matthew 8:7-10)
Secondly, we also saw that from the woman with the issue of blood in (Mark 5:25-34)
This woman had suffered this sickness for 12 years, and have spent all, but her assurance of getting healed came when she heard of 'The Word of God/Of Jesus', The Bible say:
"...When she had heard of Jesus, came in the press behind, and touched his garment. For she said, If I may touch but his clothes, I shall be whole."
Jesus response in verse 34, shows to us that Faith is touching and taking from Jesus" it reads: "And he said unto her, Daughter, thy faith hath made thee whole..."
Several times in Scriptures, we saw how Jesus demonstrated this reality of Faith "as people heard of Him" (The Word of God), as people believed in Him and received from Him. He made known to all that; there is provision for every need in Him - Salvation, deliverance, safety, preservation, healing, soundness etc...
