"FAITH IN JESUS"
We continue in our series on "THE FAITH OF JESUS", and today, we shall examine "FAITH IN JESUS". Our objectives of today series is to build on the foundation we have established already on Faith.
Faith in Jesus must be based on the finished work of Christ (i.e. In His substitutionary sacrifice on the cross, his death and ascension), and not just the signs and wonders He did while He was on earth. By the faith of Jesus, we now justified to be redeemed, not by our 'works of the law', nor self righteousness, but simply by The Faith of Jesus.
Paul gives us further explanation on this, this was what he said:
"Knowing that a man is not justified by the works of the law, but by the faith of Jesus Christ, even we have believed in Jesus Christ, that we might be justified by the faith of Christ, and not by the works of the law: for by the works of the law shall no flesh be justified." (Galatians 2:16)
Faith in Jesus is a living experience, it has living proof and it draws strength from;
- The Integrity of the Word:
- Revelation of the Truth:
Jesus didn't just died and carried our sins, diseases on the cross, He surely bore them, making us whole. (Isa. 53:1-5).
Faith is unlimited, but the vessels carrying the faith might be. Jesus explained this after the disciples asked Him to increase their faith, this was His response;
"So the Lord said, “If you have faith as a mustard seed, you can say to this mulberry tree, ‘Be pulled up by the roots and be planted in the sea,’ and it would obey you. (Luke 17:6 NKJV)
Jesus makes the disciples to understand that the problem is not the size of their Faith, but on what it is placed on or what anchors it. The Faith in Jesus can be improved by we growing in the knowledge of the Word, one sure way of growing in the Faith in Jesus beside reading, studying and praying is by; SPEAKING!
HOW TO USE AND RELEASE OUR FAITH IN JESUS
We use and release our Faith in Jesus by Speaking. Our Faith in Jesus grows by Speaking regardless of how or what we feels, smells, sees, etc..
You discover that as you speak in line with the Scriptures, appropriating what Jesus says about you, you begin to gain Spiritual ascendency, thats HOW FAITH IN JESUS GROWS....
Growing in Faith is growing In Christ
"That the communication of thy faith may become effectual by the acknowledging of every good thing which is in you in Christ Jesus." (Philemon 1:6)
