"ENEMIES OF REVELATION FAITH " (2)
In the previous series, we established first enemy of faith, which was 'Hope', today lets identify another enemy of faith, which is 'Feelings'
FEELINGS AS ENEMY OF FAITH
The following describes the word "Feelings"
- a sensual awareness by your body of something in it or on it
- an emotional state or reaction
- thoughts of wanting to help someone.
Looking at the three descriptions of the word feelings, you will discover that they are centered around the 'senses' (i.e. sight, earring, touch, etc..)
Faith in neither sensual nor emotional evidence, neither is Faith a good will of wanting to have something. Sometimes, we mistake Faith to mean a feeling of wanting good to happen to us or someone else.
Faith is not a sensual knowledge of somethings, Faith is simply a revelation of the future in the present, from the standpoint of Jesus (The Word). This makes Faith not to thrives on mental asset as Paul declared: "Great is my boldness of speech..." (2 Cor 7:4)
Jesus also testifies of his speech, as not the key to faith;
"Why do ye not understand my speech? even because ye cannot hear my word...." (John 8:43)
The above scriptures were to address an audience that were sensually driven, i.e. They were controlled by their feelings, and so their faith could not connect to the fountain of Faith; Jesus.
