"ENEMIES OF REVELATION FAITH" (1)
This weekend, we shall examine some of the enemies of faith in Jesus. We have established already what Faith is and what to do with our Faith in Jesus.
HOPE AS ENEMY OF FAITH
Faith is not Hope, (we have declared before), hope bases its emphasis on the future, while faith naturally focuses on the 'now'. We described in previous series that Hope is "to want something to happen or be true and think that it could happen in the future.
Hope thrives on possibility thinking (thinking maybe something can happen), while Faith sees it as though it has happened already in the now. Hope can be a hindrance to faith due to its false idea of its similarities or comparability with faith.
God is never moved by our 'hope' but by our 'Faith', not just Faith in anything, but our faith in Jesus!, God is never moved by our wishful thinking, but by our bold step of Faith in Him. However, we learnt from Scriptures that Faith has trials, enemies that opposes it deliveries.
No matter our challenges or trials may be faced with, let us be assured that the trials of our faith is precious to God. Peter the Apostle testified of this, he said:
"That the trial of your faith, being much more precious than of gold that perisheth, though it be tried with fire, might be found unto praise and honour and glory at the appearing of Jesus Christ:" (1 Peter 1:7)
