JESUS AND THE HOLY SPIRIT #6 "THE CONFIRMING MISSION OF THE HOLY SPIRIT"

JESUS AND THE HOLY SPIRIT #6

"THE CONFIRMING MISSION OF THE HOLY SPIRIT"

No man can say, Jesus is Lord, except by the Holy Ghost. (1 Cor. 12:3)

TO CONFIRM means; to state or show that (something) is true or correct, to tell someone that something has definitely happened or is going to happen or to make (something) definite or official. The Holy Spirit Confirms Jesus to us. He makes our walk/fellowship with God more certain and stronger.

WHAT HE (THE HOLY SPIRIT) CONFIRMS:

  1. He Confirms 'Our sonship'

(Romans 8:16) "The Spirit itself beareth witness with our spirit, that we are the children of God:" Through the ministry of the Holy Spirit, we get to know our true status in the kingdom , with the Father. He reveals our sonship-relationship with God.

"And because ye are sons, God hath sent forth the Spirit of His Son unto your hearts, crying Abba, Father" (Galatians 4:6)

  1. He confirms The Truth

Jesus saith unto him, I am the way, the truth, and the life: no man cometh unto the Father, but by me. (John 14:6), Jesus speaking, He said: "If I bear witness of myself, my witness is not true.

"There is another that beareth witness of me; and I know that the witness which he witnesseth of me is true". (John 5:31-32)

He makes the access to the Father possible through Jesus, He does this by confirming His Word in us. "And they went forth, and preached every where, the Lord working with them, and confirming the word with signs following. Amen." (Mark 16:20)

  1. He confirms the Promises of God

Paul speaking, he said: "Now I say that Jesus Christ was a minister of the circumcision for the truth of God, to confirm the promises made unto the fathers. (Romans 15:8), the Holy Spirit is commissioned to testify of Jesus (the promise of God)

From the listed points above, We discover that the Holy Spirit is basically Commissioned to Exalt Christ Jesus, EMPOWERING US TO ACT IN CHRIST STED
