"SIMILARITIES BETWEEN JESUS AND THE HOLY SPIRIT"
Although The Holy Spirit administers different operations in the GodHead, His distinct Personality and Qualities makes His role very unique in the Kingdom. However, there are some similarities between Him and Jesus.
The following describes these similarities:
- They are both comforter
- They both of divine nature
- They are with the same purpose
- The abiding of Jesus is the abiding of the Holy Spirit (John 14:18)
- The fullness of the Holy Spirit is the fullness of Jesus
In (John 14:16), Jesus described the Holy spirit as another comforter. The adjective "another" in this scripture has significant implications in the original Greek.
Two different Greek words are used in the Bible to denote "another".
The first one is found in (Galatians 1:6) "another gospel",
the other is in (John 14:16) is the Greek word allos, which signifies another of the same kind and quality.
The word "another " in (Galatians 1:6) is the Greek word heteros, which means denotes another which is different in kind and quality.
Surprisingly, when Jesus referred to "another Comforter" , He used the words allos parakletos. Why? Because, although the Holy Spirit is a different person from Jesus, He is the same kind of Comforter, of the same divine nature and with the same purpose as Jesus.
