"BALANCING LIFE IN THE MIDST OF TWO KINGDOM
As followers of Christ, we are faced with the daily challenge of balancing our life in the midst of two kingdoms at once: The Kingdom of Heaven and The Kingdom of the world. The fact that these two kingdoms are often in conflict adds to the challenge.
We are in both kingdoms. Jesus began His public ministry announcing the arrival of the kingdom of Heaven (Matthew 4:17). As always, we should look to Jesus for an example of how to balance life in the two kingdoms, because He is the kingdom man.
In (Matthew 22:15-22), we saw how Jesus dealt with those pharisees that tried to entangled Him. Jesus' responses to them was simpler yet contained profound truth. As a Kingdom man, Jesus recognized that all governmental systems have legitimate claims and demands of their citizens. He simply said that we should give each kingdom its due.
Human Leaders of our nation today may make legitimate claims on our time, money, or labour, but we own greater allegiance to our Lord Jesus in the kingdom, we should never by any means compromise our allegiance in the kingdom of Heaven while in the kingdom of the world.
