"THE PARABLES OF THE KINGDOM"
This month, we begin another series that is centered around "Jesus and The Kingdom of Heaven/God", we shall be doing a study on Why Jesus uses parables and the interpretations of the various parables He spoke about The Kingdom of God/Heaven.
We saw from the Scriptures that 'Jesus spoke many things in parables...' (Matthew 13:3), and gave the interpretations Himself describing the similarities between His points and illustrating how The Kingdom of God is like.
What are Parables?
Parables are short story that teaches a moral or spiritual lesson. Its a form of allegory ( i.e. A story in which the characters and events are symbols that stand for ideas about human life or historical situation).
The Parables of The Kingdom are extended similes, they illustrate truths of the Kingdom and make it clear by comparison with something that is already familiar, they are mysteries that create a hunger and further panting for more information about the Kingdom. Matthew 13:10,27)
