JESUS AND THE KINGDOM #4 "THE PARABLE OF THE GREAT FEAST"

JESUS AND THE KINGDOM #4

"THE PARABLE OF THE GREAT FEAST"

In (Matthew 22:2-4), Jesus said: "The kingdom of heaven is like unto a certain king, which made a marriage for his son, And sent forth his servants to call them that were bidden to the wedding: and they would not come. Again, he sent forth other servants, saying, Tell them which are bidden, Behold, I have prepared my dinner: my oxen and my fatlings are killed, and all things are ready: come unto the marriage."

When you read further to verse 14, you will observe that, The guests the king invited ignored the invitation and went after their ways and businesses, others insulted and killed the kings servants, the king heard of it and was angry and sent his armies to destroy the murderers. In verse 9, the king sent his servants again, to invite anyone, as many as they shall find.

The initial plan of salvation was for the jews, but they disdain it, and so it was turned to both the jews and the gentiles (Acts 13:47), the rejection of Jesus by Israel freed God from all responsibility to them in fulfilling His covenant with them, so His program became a worldwide for all men (John 3:16, Romans 1:16, 1 Corinthians 12:13)

This is the point illustrated by the parable; All are called to salvation, but few will finally be saved! All men are called to become God's elect or chosen ones and can be  if they choose God, and the punishment for those who reject Christ will be casted into hell (Mathew 8:12, 11:20-24, 13:40-50, 20:16)
