"REVELATION FAITH DELIVERIES" (4)
Faith in Jesus is the rock of Christianity. This was what Jesus meant when He ask His disciples; "...Whom do men say that I the Son of man am?" (Matthew 16:13-18), the next verse reveals their level of understanding of who Jesus was, "...And they said, Some say that thou art John the Baptist: some, Elias; and others, Jeremias, or one of the prophets."
Only Peter got to know (by revelation) who Jesus truly was, and this was his response; "Thou art the Christ, the Son of the living God."
Jesus was excited and joyful over peters' response, in the same vein today, He is expecting us (believers) to absolutely rely on Him. Jesus demonstrated how He feels when we put our Faith in Him, trusting Him, and living passionate after Him...
The revelation of Jesus is the rock and pillar upon which the church is built, established and stands on, and If you read further, you will observe a very crucial statement made by Jesus concerning the church, this was what He said:
"And Jesus answered and said unto him, Blessed art thou, Simon Barjona: for flesh and blood hath not revealed it unto thee, but my Father which is in heaven. And I say also unto thee, That thou art Peter, and upon this rock I will build my church; and the gates of hell shall not prevail against it"
The Revelation of Jesus as the Christ is the formula which Jesus established for her sustainers, protection and eternal dominion over the gate of hell.
In summary, the very essence of craving after the knowledge and revelation of Jesus and faith in Him is so we (the Church) can successfully walk in fulfillment of the eternal counsel of God, by the Faith of Jesus as declared by Paul the Apostle.
"I am crucified with Christ: nevertheless I live; yet not I, but Christ liveth in me: and the life which I now live in the flesh I live by the faith of the Son of God, who loved me, and gave himself for me." (Gal. 2:20 KJV)
